Reasons why metal expansion joints are widely used

Metal expansion joint is a compensator directly installed in the pipeline of single-phase or multiphase fluid. It is mainly composed of sleeve (core pipe), shell, sealing material, etc. the sealing cavity is generally sealed with high-temperature graphite material, which has the advantages of, lubrication, high-temperature sealing, etc. it is used to compensate the axial expansion and contraction of the pipeline and axial compensation at any angle. Metal expansion joints have the characteristics of small volume and large compensation. It is widely used in transportation pipelines in shipbuilding, urban heating, metallurgy, mining, power generation, petroleum, chemical industry, construction and other industries.

The inner sleeve of the new type metal expansion joint is connected with the pipeline, and adopts the principle and structure of self pressure sealing. It can slide freely in the shell with the expansion and contraction of the pipeline, and can meet the sealing requirements of any pipeline. New synthetic materials are used between the shell and the inner sleeve to seal, which can withstand high temperature, prevent corrosion and resist aging. The applicable temperature is -40 ℃ to 400 ℃, which can not only determine the axial sliding, but also ensure that the medium in the pipe does not leak. The new metal expansion joint is designed with an anti breaking device, which can ensure that it will not be pulled apart when it expands to the limit position, so as to improve the stability of the whole pipe network. The new metal expansion joint has no requirements for chloride ion content, and is especially suitable for systems with excessive chloride ions in the medium or the surrounding environment.

Metal expansion joint is applicable to medium engineering pressure ≤ 2.5MPa, medium temperature -40 ℃ ~600 ℃. The sleeve compensator adopts a new sealing material flexible graphite ring, which has the characteristics of high strength, low friction coefficient (0.04~0.10), no aging, good effect, convenient maintenance, etc. the service life of the metal expansion joint is large, and the fatigue life is equivalent to that of the pipeline. After special treatment, the sliding surface has good corrosion performance in salt water, salt solution and other environments, which is more than 50 times higher than that of austenitic stainless steel.

Reasons why metal expansion joints are widely used:

 1. The service life of metal expansion joints is long, and the fatigue life is equivalent to that of pipelines. After special treatment, the sliding surface is not easy to corrode in salt water, salt solution and other environments, and its performance is better than that of austenitic stainless steel by more than 50 times. At the same time, when the sealing effect is weakened due to wear a few years later, the flange can be tightened again to enhance the sealing performance, or the bolts can be loosened, the pressure ring can be removed, and then one or two layers of sealing rings can be installed to compress the pressure ring and continue to be used.

2. The sleeve compensator has no requirements for chloride ion content, and is especially suitable for systems with excessive chloride ions in the medium or the surrounding environment.

 3. The sleeve compensator is divided into one-way compensation structure and two-way compensation structure. The two-way compensation structure is characterized by that the sliding sleeves at both ends of the compensator always slide freely no matter where the medium flows from the compensator, so as to achieve two-way compensation and increase the amount of compensation.
