Yanger Marine Ethernet Cables Obtain BV Certification, Reaching New Heights in Quality

Recently, our company’s core product—marine Ethernet cables—has successfully obtained certification from Bureau Veritas (BV) and secured the Type Approval Certificate! This breakthrough achievement signifies that our Ethernet cable products have fully aligned with international top-tier standards in technological R&D, quality control, and adaptability to extreme environments. We have now become one of the few domestic suppliers of marine Ethernet cables with BV certification, providing more reliable transmission solutions for the global maritime communication sector.

Customized Services: Precisely Meeting Diverse Maritime Scenario Demands

We understand the differentiated requirements for Ethernet cables across various vessel types and sailing environments. For this certification, our marine Ethernet cables cover five categories: CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A, CAT7, and CAT7A. We offer three shielding types—F/UTP (overall aluminum foil shielding), SF/UTP (tinned copper braid + overall aluminum foil shielding), and S/FTP (overall tinned copper braid shielding + aluminum foil pair shielding)—as well as three sheath materials: SHF1 (polyolefin), SHF2 (cross-linked polyolefin), and SHF2 MUD (mud-resistant cross-linked polyolefin). Additionally, two armor types are available: TCWB (tinned copper wire braided armor) and GSWB (galvanized steel wire braided armor). Customers can select different structural and material combinations based on specific installation and usage scenarios, achieving a “one vessel, one solution” approach for precise adaptation.

To address low temperatures, oil contamination, and mud environments that vessels may encounter during navigation, our marine Ethernet cables have established a comprehensive protection system through specialized technological R&D. In environments as low as -40°C, after eight days of bent placement, the cables exhibited no cracking or hardening in the insulation or sheath layers, maintaining overall structural integrity. Additionally, the cables have successfully met the NEK 606 testing requirements for oil and mud resistance.

As enclosed spaces, vessels face heightened risks from fire hazards. To ensure personnel safety in the event of a fire, our cables utilize customized low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) flame-retardant sheaths, complying with the IEC 60332-3-22 bunched cable flame retardancy standard and the IEC 60332-1-2 single-wire flame retardancy standard. This effectively prevents fire spread and reduces secondary hazards. To maintain the normal operation of communication equipment in fire conditions, the cable insulation layer incorporates a high-purity mica tape wrapping design, forming a high-temperature-resistant protective barrier. This meets the IEC 60331-2 fire resistance requirements, allowing the cables to maintain stable data transmission for 180 minutes under 830°C flames without communication interruption.
